Our Anchor Winches can efficiently run from your boats main battery supply or via a dual-battery setup. There is no wrong way to power your TUFF WINCH as long as you correctly wire and install your unit.

We don’t offer free fall as a standard feature as you sacrifice the integrity of the unit in order to make it work. We can supply a custom solution if it’s a necessity to you but it isn't standard to our Drum Winches.

The TUFF Winch range offers seven models for boats from 3.5 m to 15 m.

Each model includes a recommended boat length, but this is a guide only. The best size depends on your boat’s weight, anchor type, rope/chain needs, and space in the anchor locker. We recommend choosing the largest capacity that fits for added safety and versatility, especially in deeper water or rough conditions.

For recreational boats, a compact model often suffices; small commercial vessels may need a larger winch for heavier loads and frequent use.

Absolutely, TUFF WINCH is designed to withstand the harsh Australian weather environment including the saltwater, it's important to choose a Winch that you know sources quality-grade materials that is designed to hold up when out at sea. We strictly use Marine-grade 316 stainless steel for all steel components including the winch drum, shaft and bearing caps. 

316 stainless steel contains 2-3% molybdenum, which greatly improves resistance to saltwater corrosion compared to 304 grade. It stays strong under stress and wear, giving long-lasting performance at sea. Choosing a supplier like us ensures you get genuine marine-grade materials for lower maintenance and greater reliability.

Self-installation is straightforward with proper preparation, and every TUFF Winch kit includes all necessary components for a complete setup.

However, if you prefer confidence in performance and safety, we recommend professional installation by a qualified marine mechanic or electrician. This ensures correct wiring, secure mounting, and optimal operation from the start.
